Achievements of Richmond’s Biodiversity Action Plan

  • We published the Richmond Biodiversity Action Plan for Richmond upon Thames in June 2005, which contains 5 Habitat Action Plans and 6 Species Action Plans.
  • We have established sub-groups for all of the 11 Action Plans.
  • We have produced a leaflet giving details of the wide range of wildlife sites to visit in Richmond and explaining how people can get more involved with the wildlife on their doorsteps.
  • We have organised borough-wide 'garden surveys' to find out what wildlife lives in Richmond gardens to encourage local residents to take an interest in what lives in their gardens.
  • We have held a number of survey training days on water voles and we will be running another training day soon on amphibians and reptiles.
  • We produce quarterly Newsletters informing everyone about the work being undertaken in the borough as well as events and other important biodiversity news. To view the last three newsletters, download them from this page
  • We have produced a leaflet on Decaying Wood(pdf, 979KB) and how to manage this valuable wildlife habitat. If you would like a copy of this leaflet, you can download this.
