Volunteering

Richmond Volunteer Centre

We work with young people aged 13 to 25 to engage them in volunteering as a path way to employment, to learn new skills, gain experience, meet new people and have fun!

We are able to offer to every young volunteer the nationally recognised awards called V50 and VImpact as well as Thank You certificates for one-off volunteering.

We work with organisations to design young people friendly volunteering opportunities and promote volunteering by giving talks in schools.

We do one-to-one motivational interviews with young people in order to identify their interests, needs and skills to better match them with the right volunteering opportunity.

Soul Saturdays

Soul Saturdays is a community action programme on the second Saturday of each month. We have adult volunteers and plenty of young people from Ham helping to clear rubbish , wash cars, litter pick and generally provide free services to the local community.

We support the Watoto Children’s Ministries providing homes, families and education for Uganda’s orphaned children and also Asha charity in India supporting slum dwellers providing health care and education.

We are always looking for more young people to help out on Saturdays. The programmes start at 10.00am for breakfast and we finish at 4.00pm. We are supported by the local police, Ham Working Together Group, Tescos, St Richards church, the Ham United Group and the community of Ham.
