Schools' Financial Regulations and Standing Orders

These Financial Regulations and Standing Orders are designed to strike the right balance between giving schools the freedom necessary to exercise their delegated responsibilities and maintaining due regard for the proper accountability and control over public funds.

The governing body is responsible for ensuring all business is conducted in accordance with the Scheme for Financing Schools and the Schools Financial Regulations and Standing Orders.

These Schools Financial Regulations and Standing Orders are kept under regular review to ensure that they continue to:

  • strike the right balance between giving schools the freedom necessary to exercise their delegated responsibilities and maintaining due regard for the proper accountability and control over public funds; and
  • include any changes in legislation regarding school financial management e.g. Consistent Financial Reporting.
