Support and parenting information

Being a parent isn’t always easy and there are many support networks out there that can offer you the support and advice you may need.

Whether you are a lone parent, or you have a child with special educational needs or a family struggling with teenage tantrums or the terrible two’s there are people out there who can help you.

In the Family Information Service we hold a contacts list for both national and local support organisations and parenting course providers.

Attending a parenting course or support group is a fantastic way to meet other parents in a similar situation and a great opportunity to learn new skills and techniques on a range of issues. Attending parenting courses can provide a sense of relief and reassurance to parents as they are an innovative and hands on way to tackle family issues.
