Early Years and Childcare Team
The Early Years and Childcare Team provides a wide range of advice, support, guidance and training to all early years settings across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
The work of the team focuses on the Every Child Matters outcomes as detailed in the Richmond upon Thames Children and Young People's Plan 2006-2009.
In particular to:
- Further improve the quality of service to children with special needs and disabilities
- Improve the range of out of school and holiday provision for disabled children
- Provide sufficient integrated places offering education and childcare to meet demand for children aged 0-8, particularly in areas of relative disadvantage
- Ensure there are enough free nursery education places to meet local demand
- Develop the childcare workforce to meet the high standards expected by the local community and by Ofsted
