Early Years and Childcare Team
The Early Years and Childcare Team works with partners in health, social care and the private and voluntary sector to deliver integrated services for 0 – 5 year olds.
Integral parts to the service are
- Children’s Centres
- The Family Information Service
- Business support for private and voluntary providers of pre school education and childcare for children aged 0-8 years
- The Early Years consultants who provide challenge and guidance on quality and inclusion
- The development of Childminding provision
The integrated services support the priorities of the Children and Young People Plan, 2009-13 to
- ensure all children and young people are safe and happy
- ensure all children and young people are able to participate, enjoy and achieve,
- address inequality to enable every family to access the economic wellbeing of the borough
Wishes Project
'Wishes’ is a new project to help mentor and support parents of young children towards personal economic wellbeing by helping them climb the qualification ladder to work and give their children a more economically stable start to life. Guided by an allocated mentor, each parent is given the tools and information they need to get the qualifications they need to achieve their wish.
If you think you have parents in your setting who may benefit from being involved in this programme of activity or would be interested in training to become a mentor, please contact Michelle Pugsley, the Wishes Coordinator on 07749 610940.
