Boundaries in Richmond

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames is divided by the river Thames into two constituencies, Twickenham and Richmond Park. Richmond Park also takes in some parts of Kingston. These constituencies are represented by two Members of Parliament elected in General Elections. Information about our MPs can be found on the Parliament information page.

The Borough is divided into 18 wards, each represented by three local councillors. These councillors are elected every four years in Local Elections. See our Who are my councillors page for a complete list of councillors and their details.

Changes to boundaries

Any changes to electoral boundaries are made independently by the Boundary Commission for England and the Local Government Boundary Commission.

The proposals for new Parliamentary Constituencies have been published and are now subject to consultation.

Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places

Regulations require all local authorities to review their polling districts and polling places every four years. The 2011 public consultation has now completed and a recommendations report will be considered by Council. Find out more about the review here.

Proposed ward name change consultation.

Proposals were received to change the name of two wards. These were the subject of a public consultation and then debated by Council who determined that the proposal to change the name of Hampton Wick and Fulwell and Hampton Hill wards be rejected.
