Local council elections 4th May 2006 (609 responses)

  • Over 99% strongly/agreed that polling station staff were helpful and well informed.
  • Over 99% believed their polling station was in a suitable venue (over 10% said "ideal, perfect")
  • 98% received their official poll cards.
  • 95% were aware of the option to vote by post (5% had general postal voting security worries).
  • 53% knew election information available on the Council website (others specified can’t use/no access)
  • 91% know that everyone must register on the household forms sent out each Autumn
  • 85% know you can change your registered address during the year if you move house
  • 77% know our leaflets are available in large print, braille, community languages
