Local council elections 4th May 2006 (609 responses)
- Over 99% strongly/agreed that polling station staff were helpful and well informed.
- Over 99% believed their polling station was in a suitable venue (over 10% said "ideal, perfect")
- 98% received their official poll cards.
- 95% were aware of the option to vote by post (5% had general postal voting security worries).
- 53% knew election information available on the Council website (others specified can’t use/no access)
- 91% know that everyone must register on the household forms sent out each Autumn
- 85% know you can change your registered address during the year if you move house
- 77% know our leaflets are available in large print, braille, community languages
