General elections 5th May 2005 (345 responses)
- 100% strongly/agreed that polling station staff were helpful and well informed
- 96% were aware of the option to vote by post
- 95% thought their polling station was in a suitable venue (18% added it was an ideal venue)
- 89% know they have to register each autumn on the forms we send out
- 64% know they can now change registration address during the year if moving
- (these figures low as many respondents apparently not “head of household”!)
- 75% knew our leaflets and letters are available in different formats (e.g. Braille, languages)
- 44% were aware that election info is available on the Council website (many specified they don’t have internet access, or have no interest in it; figure also includes Kingston Council residents).
- 100% of Political Party Agents agreed polling stations conveniently located and suitably staffed
