Am I registered to vote?

Finding out if you are on the electoral roll

If you are currently registered to vote your details will be pre-printed on the Annual Household form we send every Autumn, the confirmation letter we send in the Spring, and also on Poll Cards at election time.

The Register of Electors may be viewed under supervision at Richmond Reference Library in the Old Town Hall, Whittaker Avenue Richmond, or at our Electoral Registration office in Regal House, Twickenham.

Please note that it is divided into polling wards and districts, and within each districts the streets are listed alphabetically, so it is not possible to "name search".

The Electoral Register is not available online, and to protect the privacy of voters we do not confirm details over the phone. If you need to prove you are on the Register we recommend keeping a copy of your household confirmation letter. Alternatively, we can provide an official Certificate of Registration at a cost of £21.55 (plus £5.25 search fee for each additional year checked).

Some commercial companies suggest that you can purchase information from the electoral roll. However please note that it is illegal to sell people's data who have requested an increased level of privacy. In Richmond the majority of our residents have this increased privacy by ticking the 'edited version' box on every returned registration form.

If you are in the situation where you have returned an application form but a finance company say you are not on the Electoral Register, please note that credit agencies often take several months to update the data we send them. See our Credit page for details.
