LONDON BUSES - ''COUNTDOWN'' SERVICE pdf icon PDF 94 KB

Additional documents:

Minutes:

The Group members discussed the proposals from TfL which had been presented to them and recommended that The Cabinet member for Traffic Transport and Parking

agree to:-

support the new London Bus Real Time Information Countdown initiative,

request that Transport for London include the key bus routes e.g. 481 and 490.

• Register Richmond’s concerns on the proposed removal of the 30 well used existing Real Time Information signs without any plan for their replacement.

The Group Members also expressed concerns about a number of issues they wished to bring to TfL – London Buses attention, namely:

-the loss of countdown signs at existing sites where travellers have had this information relayed to the stop for some time,

-the loss of signs in areas of the borough where there is no alternative public transport to the bus service, e.g. Ham and Petersham with no underground or other rail service, also compounded by being an area of relative deprivation,

-those routes with low frequency which can lead to gaps in the service,

- those routes to the Airport, Interchanges and visitor attractions, e.g. 490 to Heathrow, Hammersmith bus/underground and Kew Gardens.

[There had been 1 representation from a member of Teddington Society which would be forwarded to Transport for London.

No representations were made].
