Information about Council

All Councillors meet several times a year at Council.

 

The Council sets the policy and budgetary framework within which the Cabinet must operate and remains the ultimate policy making body for Richmond upon Thames.

 

The Council is also responsible for appointments. It elects the Leader, members of the Cabinet and members of other committees such as Overview and Scrutiny.

 

Councillors and Members of the Public have the right to question Cabinet Members at meetings of the Council.
