I would like to find out if you outsource any marketing activities, and I understand that as a part of the Freedom of Information Act we are able to request this information?
With this in mind, I would be really grateful if you would please confirm the following:
1. What is your marketing budget for 2012?
2. What percentage of this budget goes towards outsourcing?
3. Which services do you outsource? (e.g. Paid Search Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing or Telemarketing)
4. When should we approach you in order to be considered as a new provider?

1. What is your marketing budget for 2012?
2. What percentage of this budget goes towards outsourcing?
In response to parts 1 and 2, the Council does not have a single specific marketing budget. Many Council services undertake activities aimed at identifying and meeting the needs of our customers, service users and residents and it is not possible to cost these separately nor to say what proportion is outsourced.
3. Which services do you outsource? (e.g. Paid Search Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing or Telemarketing)
The Council does outsource its corporate communications function, covering media relations, corporate marketing, service marketing and internal communications. The value of the contract is £400,000 per annum.
4. When should we approach you in order to be considered as a new provider?
The current communications contract runs until 31 December 2014 with the option to renew for a further year.
5. How should we approach you in order to be considered as a new provider?
