Biography for the Deputy Mayor, Ben Khosa
I was born in Punjab, India, in 1955 and came to London in 1966. I attended Southall Technical College, where I qualified as a video and TV engineer.
Since 1985, when I moved to Twickenham to take over a convenience store, I have been in business on my own account. I now manage a portfolio of commercial and residential property and a family launderette.
I am married with two children, one a trainee solicitor, and two grandchildren. I am a Governor of Chase Bridge School, a member of the Heatham House Advisory Group, the Hounslow Sikh Temple and the Sikh Art and Cultural Association.
I am a keen cyclist: I am a member of the Cycle Liaison Group and was one of the Borough’s first Cycle Ambassadors looking for ways to encourage others to take up cycling.
