Child Death Overview Panel
The Children Act 2004 sets out the procedures that each Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) must undertake in order to review all childhood deaths within the LSCB area. This includes:
- A rapid response by a group of key professionals who come together for the purpose of enquiring into and evaluating each unexpected death of a child
- An overview of all child deaths (under 18 years) in the LSCB area(s) undertaken by a panel
The boroughs of Kingston, Richmond upon Thames and Hounslow have joined together to undertake this function.
