Twickenham Riverside - the vision

The new site plan - Twickenham Riverside

The vision for the regeneration of the site and the adjacent embankment area was agreed by the Council’s Cabinet in April 2008(pdf, 173KB) when it approved the development brief and preferred option for the Twickenham Riverside site. This was based on the T1 planning brief in the Council’s adopted UDP (Unitary Development Plan) which provided for a mixed used development.

This approval followed a three stage consultation process involving local residents, businesses and interest groups. The consultation process included a range of meetings and workshops and culminated in a 5 day exhibition, held at York House in February 2008 and visited by over 650 people.

The development brief(pdf, 3389KB) was used to assist the Council find a suitable developer partner for the site. The brief provided clear and practical advice for prospective developers on the form of development and included a preferred option plan for the layout of the site.
