Olympics are coming to Richmond upon Thames
Richmond upon Thames is certainly making the most of the 2012 Games. We have the Olympic cycling events on our doorstep, the Olympic Torch will be passing through the Borough, and St Mary's University College will be the pre-training camp for the South African, Irish and Chinese Olympic and Paralympic teams.
These webpages are a one-stop-shop for information on the impact and benefits of the Games to the borough.
The important dates to know are:
- Olympic torch visiting the borough on 24 and 27 July (route currently being confirmed)
- The Men’s Olympic Cycling Road Race on 28 July 2012 (race times are 10am – 16.15)
- The Women’s Olympic Cycling Road race on 29 July 2012 (race times are 12noon – 16.15)
- Competitors Familiarisation with the Time Trial Course on 31st July 2012 (race times are 10am – 12noon)
- Women’s Time Trial on 1st August 2012 (race times 12.30 – 13.45)
- Men’s Time Trial on 1st August 2012 (race times 14.15 – 16.05)
