Local Safeguarding Children Board

The Richmond upon Thames Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) was established in March 2006. It is an independent board, running parallel to the governance structures of the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership (CYPSP). It coordinates safeguarding through each of the CYPSP sub groups, as well as a number of specific sub groups, to carry out its functions.

The LSCB is the statutory mechanism for agreeing how the relevant organisations in each area will cooperate to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in the locality and for ensuring the effectiveness of what they do. Meetings are held quarterly.
