What's new in Revenues & Benefits
The Revenues & Benefits department has recently been awarded the Charter Mark service standard. The Charter Mark is the standard of customer service excellence awarded by Government to public sector organisations.
Following on from our recent customer surveys, we have made the following changes to improve the service that we provide to you:
- We have introduced a self-service online citizens account which enables customers to register online, receive a pin number and look up account details. To register for this service please follow this link view your Council Tax account details
- We have also introduced an automated telephone service to take payments.
- Two members of staff cover the desks in the attrium on a full-time basis. A third member of staff is being trained to cover this position. We try to ensure that the service desks are fully staffed and we ensure that we have cover if there is leave or absence.
- Our system can now flag up claimants who are seriously ill or have a disability.
- We have introduced a new format for our Business Rates bill to ensure that they are clearer and easy to understand.
We continuously strive to improve our service, should you have any ideas or suggestions that you think may help us improve the service we provide please use our online feedback form.
