Annual Performance Report

The annual report for 2011-12 presented the Council’s progress during the course of the year in delivering the interim Corporate Plan.

This Plan set out four priority service areas on which resources would be focused:

  1. A borough to be proud of - protecting the built and natural environment whilst meeting the needs of local people and residents
  2. Support business, culture and the arts - encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship to drive recovery from the recession
  3. The best schools in London - where children and young people are able to thrive and realise their full potential
  4. Care for the most vulnerable in our community - promoting independence and well-being

Four priorities were identified to guide management of the organisation:

  1. Provide value for money through sound financial management and understanding how our customers want to receive services
  2. Understand our customers in order to meet their expectations and shape services to meet their needs
  3. Carry out consultation in strong communities, actively engaging local people and encouraging volunteering, community activity and local involvement in shaping future service delivery
  4. Be fully accountable to the public, managing our performance and expenditure in a culture of openness and honesty

The annual report outlines progress in meeting these priorities:
