Annual Performance Report
The annual report for 2011-12 presented the Council’s progress during the course of the year in delivering the interim Corporate Plan.
This Plan set out four priority service areas on which resources would be focused:
- A borough to be proud of - protecting the built and natural environment whilst meeting the needs of local people and residents
- Support business, culture and the arts - encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship to drive recovery from the recession
- The best schools in London - where children and young people are able to thrive and realise their full potential
- Care for the most vulnerable in our community - promoting independence and well-being
Four priorities were identified to guide management of the organisation:
- Provide value for money through sound financial management and understanding how our customers want to receive services
- Understand our customers in order to meet their expectations and shape services to meet their needs
- Carry out consultation in strong communities, actively engaging local people and encouraging volunteering, community activity and local involvement in shaping future service delivery
- Be fully accountable to the public, managing our performance and expenditure in a culture of openness and honesty
The annual report outlines progress in meeting these priorities:
