The Traffic and Transport department provides a wide range of services to the local community. We aim to continuously improve the delivery of these services and believe that the views of our customers are an important part of our service design and delivery review process.

Section 31 Grant

Highways planned maintenance 2011/12: Section 31 grant funding

Cabinet agreed the Council’s 2011/12 planned highways maintenance programme at its March meeting. View document

The programme totalled £2.346m and included £274,000 Section 31 Grant (Emergency Fund Winter Damage 2011/12) allocated to the Council by the Department of Transport.

This Grant was used specifically for permanent pothole patching repairs to carriageways over the period April-August 2011 with repairs being carried out to over 4200 pot holes of various sizes across the borough.

The Council’s Planned Highways Maintenance Programme will continue throughout 2011/12 with details available from the Cabinet report referred to above and on the Road Works web page on this site.
