Free parking in Richmond upon Thames on Monday

Motorists driving into Richmond upon Thames this Bank Holiday Monday will be able to park in every one of the borough’s car parks for free all day.

While many of the Council’s car parks are already free to use on Bank Holidays, the Council is extending free parking to all its car parks on Monday, May 25, meaning people in all parts of Richmond upon Thames will be able to take advantage of the attractions and shops.

The additional four car parks which will be free to use this bank holiday are:

  • Old Deer Car Park (Off A316 TW9 2RA)
  • Old Deer Extension (Off A316 TW9 2RA)
  • Friars Lane Car Park (Off Richmond Green TW9 1NL)
  • Paradise Road Car Park (Richmond TW9 1SQ)

A list of other car parks can be found at www.richmond.gov.uk/car_parks

Andrew Darvill, Richmond Council’s Assistant Director for Environment said: “The Council always encourages people to consider walking, cycling and using public transport, but we know this isn’t always possible.

“We want to bring as many visitors to the borough during this next Bank Holiday, and by allowing free parking in all its car parks, we are making it as easy as we can for everyone to eat out, shop and enjoy the amazing atmosphere here.”

The decision was taken as part of the Council’s focus on helping families and businesses through the recession by keeping more pounds in their pockets.
