Council supports IDAHO

The Mayor, Cllr Helen Lee-Parsons, did her bit to support to the fourth annual International Day Against Homphobia (IDAHO), which takes place on 17 May, at the unveiling of a banner at York House in Twickenham.

The day aims to raise awareness and combat homophobia. As part of Richmond Council’s commitment to equalities, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Staff Support Group (LGBT) have displayed banners outside York House and Twickenham Police Station.

The Mayor said:

“I’m very happy to support IDAHO, in what will be one of my last engagements as mayor. We have a very active LGBT forum at the Council who work hard to raise awareness of the problems of homophobia. I hope as many people as possible support the day.”
