Richmond's riverside will come alive this August with a celebration of live music and dance from countries and cultures from around the world.
The annual On the Edge festival, run by Richmond Council, takes place on the 15 and 16 August. Among this year’s highlights are traditional drummers, dancers and singers from the Ga tribe of Southern Ghana, The Punjab Dancers - the UK's number one Bhangra Group, Brazilian samba-reggae and Spanish Flamenco.
On the sixteenth there will also be the chance to have a go at salsa dancing, with instructor Emel Salamanca Salsa from the Landmark Arts Centre encouraging audience members to get involved.
Cllr Liz Jaeger, Cabinet Member for Youth, Culture and Leisure on Richmond Council, said:
“This is the fourteenth year of On the Edge, and each year there is always something new and exciting to look forward to. It is a great day out for residents and visitors, with a beautiful location and exceptional performances - I hope as many people as possible come and savour the amazing atmosphere for themselves.”
The event is free and runs from 1-8pm on both days. For more information call The Arts Service at Orleans House Gallery on 020 8831 6000 or email artsinfo@richmond.gov.uk.
