Crofters fashion show wows guests

A fashion show run by Crofters, the borough’s club for children and young people with a disability, was held in front of an audience of family and friends at Hampton Hill Play House this week (27 July).

Ten participants, aged 10-18 years old, took part in the show which has seen them design and make hats, t-shits and trousers over the course of 12 weeks.

Run by Richmond Council, Crofters provides a range of after-school clubs, weekend activities and play schemes during school holidays for young people with a disability.

Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Education on Richmond Council, Cllr Malcolm Eady, said:

“The fashion show was a great success. The hard work the young people showed in designing and making the clothes was outstanding and the praise they received at the show was much deserved.

“Crofters is a fantastic club and has helped hundreds of young people in the ten years it has been open. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for young people with a disability to learn new skills and this was another example of this in action.”
