Residents who made new year’s resolutions to burn off their Christmas excesses will be pleased to know membership at Richmond Council’s four sports and fitness centres will be offered at discount rates this January.
Anyone who signs up for a Direct Debit membership during the month will pay no joining fee, saving £25.
Membership includes use of the gym, free entry to fitness classes and access to the swimming pool at Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre which reopened on Tuesday 3 January, following an extensive refurbishment funded by the Council. The refurbishment is set to be fully completed by February.
Cllr Pamela Fleming, Strategic Cabinet Member for Community, Business and Culture on Richmond Council, said: “I welcome the timing of this offer as many residents look to improve their health and fitness in the New Year. This deal, which applies to all our fitness centres, makes it easier and more affordable to do so.”
“There is already a huge interest in fitness and taking part in sport in the borough. I hope residents young and old who resolved to devote time to getting fit will check out the great facilities which are available.”
