Singing from the valleys...in Richmond

A top male voice choir will be bringing a touch of Wales to Richmond upon Thames next month to celebrate St David’s Day.

The Llanelli Male Voice Choir will be performing at the Duke Street Baptist Church at 7pm on the 1st March to raise money for the Mayor’s Charity – the Citizens Advice Bureau.

The renowned choir have previously performed the Royal Albert Hall and in concert halls all over the world. They are also award winners at the Welsh National Eisteddfod competition.

Cllr Clare Head, Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, said:

“I hope that the people of Richmond upon Thames will give a warm welcome to the choir and come along on the night.

“There are also many Welsh people living in the borough and this will be a fantastic opportunity for ‘Welsh Londoners’ who are keen to get a taste of their homeland and celebrate their national day to come to an event right in the middle of the borough. I am sure that the choir will be performing a number of Welsh favourites.

“I am also pleased that the money raised will be donated to my worthwhile charity – The Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

“So Richmond upon Thames, I invite you to celebrate this national day, enjoy good music and come to Duke Street Baptist Church, just round the corner from Richmond Theatre, on the 1st March.

“Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus!”

Duke Street Baptist Church is on Duke Street, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 1DH, a short walk from Richmond Station.

The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets are available by calling 020 8891 7123 or go to: www.visitrichmond.co.uk
