Her Majesty The Queen will be visiting Richmond upon Thames this summer to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.
The Queen, accompanied by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, is marking the Diamond Jubilee with a series of regional visits and engagements throughout the country. They have selected Richmond upon Thames as one of the only four London areas they will visit during the tour, they will be visiting on the 15 May.
Lord True, Leader of Richmond Council, said:
“This is a great honour. I believe that the Queen is the greatest public servant of our time – dedicating 60 years to serving our country. That contribution should be applauded and I am thrilled that Her Majesty and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh are visiting our borough as part of their celebrations.
“I hope our borough becomes alive this summer. We have already made our commitment to supporting street parties for the Jubilee and we hope people will apply now to ensure they can celebrate this happy time.”
More information about the Royal visit will follow shortly.
