Adult and Community Services

The Adult and Community Services Directorate is the Council department responsible for social care and housing. The Director of Adult Social Services and Housing reports directly to the Chief Executive of the Council, and has overall responsibility for:

• Services for Adults
• Housing Services

The Adult and Community Services Directorate Plan explains how the Directorate plans to achieve the Council's aim of improving social care, housing and the health of the most vulnerable.

To achieve the aims set out in the Directorate Plan we need to work with many other organisations and agencies, and involve users of our services in decision making.

To ensure the Directorate is meeting the needs of those it helps according to standards set by the government, we are subject to regular external inspections.
