Two new Assistant Headteachers have been appointed to join the leadership team at the newest secondary school in the borough on the Richmond upon Thames College site in Twickenham.
Following a recruitment process, Lee Cornwall, currently Head of Year 11 at Orleans Park School in Twickenham and Pippa Wright, Head of Languages at Rosebery School in Epsom, have been appointed as Assistant Headteachers Designate for The Richmond upon Thames School (RTS) They will both take up their posts formally from September 2017.
The new school on Egerton Road will welcome Year 7 pupils from September as part of the wider Education and Enterprise Campus.
Lee has taught in West London schools for 17 years. This includes a senior leadership role in a number of departments, including RE, Sociology and Pupil Support. He has been Head of Year at Orleans Park for five years. Lee has also represented Great Britain at Softball.
Pippa Wright has previously worked in France teaching English as a foreign language before returning to the UK to retrain as a secondary school teacher. She has taught at secondary schools for over 13 years. She is currently the Head of Languages and Senior Teacher in charge of quality assurance at Rosebery School in Epsom.
This announcement comes as part of the Schools Offers period – when the 150 families of those children offered a place at the school attended an open evening last week to find out more about the school.
