This year’s Boys’ Primary School Football Tournament was fiercely contested with Barnes Primary School fighting off 33 other Richmond schools to win the Cup Final.

As an exciting and tense competition throughout, many of the matches were often decided through Golden Goals at the Football Tournament held at Teddington NPL on Wednesday. But there could only be one winner and it was Barnes Primary School who were victorious, defeating Hampton Junior School 3-1 in the Cup Final. Barnes Primary School is now in training for the School Games where they will represent Richmond at Crystal Palace on Wednesday 22 March.

Richmond Council’s Cabinet Member for Sport, Cllr Meena Bond, said:

“Our children and young people are so talented at all kinds of sport and it’s wonderful to see how high the standard is at football here in Richmond. Our team will do well at the finals I’m sure – Richmond has a winning mentality at these games and the whole borough will be willing them on to win.”
