Smokers who want to kick-start the New Year by giving up their deadly habits are being urged to take advantage of a range of free Council services to help them quit.
Free support services to help smokers come off of cigarettes and remain nicotine free for good are available through the Council's Kick-It service. The advice is free, confidential and available to any smoker who lives or works in Richmond or Kingston.
A team of trained 'stop smoking' advisors provide both one-to-one support and group sessions. The service can also give information on stop smoking support offered by nurses and pharmacists in the borough. There are services located across the borough where you can go to get advice, information and access to treatment.
Richmond Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health, Cllr Lisa Blakemore, said:
“The Kick-It Stop Smoking Service offers practical help to smokers and provides access to nicotine replacement therapy. This includes nicotine patches, gum, lozenges and telephone or online support for those who don't want to have regular appointments. So come on – make a massive start to 2017 and give up smoking today!”
Services are available most days of the week including evenings and weekends. To find out more about Kick-It call 020 3434 2500
