Mayor of the Borough

A Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Borough are elected every May, to represent the Council at civic functions and raise money for local good causes.

The current Mayor is Councillor David Linnette, and the current Deputy Mayor is Councillor Kate Howard.

About the Mayor

Councillor David Linnette has lived in the borough for over 30 years and is a Councillor for Kew ward, having been elected for the first time in 2010.

Councillor Linnette has served as Chair of the Planning Committee, Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee, and currently sits on the Heathrow liaison committee HACC and the national aviation body SASIG. He is also the Local Authority Governor for a community school in Kew. In addition to his Council roles, David chairs a River Thames Management Group that seeks to conserve and enhance the environment along both banks of the river.

Councillor Linnette is a professional graphic designer, with his own practice based in Kew. In his spare time he plays tennis at a local club and walks regularly in Richmond Park.


The Mayoress is Mrs Pippa Linnette.

The Mayor’s Chaplain is The Rev’d. Jeffrey Hopkin Williams, Vicar of St Mary’s Church Twickenham.
