Small Grants Fund 2009-2010
The aim of the Small Grants Fund is to support projects in London Borough Richmond upon Thames which benefit local people and those who work in the borough. The outcomes of successful projects should contribute to the overall vision of the Richmond upon Thames Community Plan 2007-2017

The maximum grant is £5,000. To be eligible for a grant the applicant must be a community group or voluntary sector organisation providing an activity within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. The Small Grants Fund is intended to support 'one-off' projects. If you are unsure whether your application is appropriate for the Small Grant Fund we encourage you to contact the Grants Officer before submitting your bid.
All applications will be considered by a Voluntary Sector Funding Panel who will have responsibility for making decisions on whether or not to award a grant. A number of Voluntary Sector Funding Panel meetings will be held at intervals throughout the year and applicants will be notified once their application has been received of the date at which it will be considered.

Submission deadlines
You may submit an application for funding at any point. The next Voluntary Sector Funding Panel meeting to make decisions on new applications will be held on Thursday 25 March 2010 and the submission deadline for applications being considered at this meeting is Friday 26 February 2010. Applications received after this date will be considered at future Panel meetings.

Richmond Children’s Fund Small Grants Programme 2009/2010
The Richmond Children’s Fund Small grants programme seeks to address the gap in preventative services for children and young people by providing increased and better co-ordinated services for children and young people.
The Richmond Children’s Fund small grants programme has two elements;
- Projects with grants available from £500 up to £5000 (the average grant is expected to be in the region of £2000- £2500)
- Purchase of equipment with grants available from £250 up to £2000
The grants are available to voluntary sector organisations and community groups who are delivering services, or want to deliver new services in the London Borough of Richmond.
The age range covered is 0-19 (up to 25 for those with disabilities). However priority will be given to projects targeted at young people 10-13, and to the following priority groups
- Young carers
- Children with disabilities
- Children looked after
- The Traveller community
Deadlines for submission are:
- 11th September 2009
- 13th November 2009
All projects need to be completed by 31 March 2010
