Richmond Upon Thames Registration Service
The Nationality Checking Service (NCS) is a partnership between the Home Office UK Border Agency and local councils in England and Wales. This partnership allows those people applying for British citizenship to make their applications, in person, at their local council offices.
Richmond Registration Service offers this optional service to help simplify the citizenship application process, for a small fee.
About the service
If you would like to make an NCS appointment please telephone 020 8940 2853 or 020 8940 2651.
The fee for your appointment will need to be taken by debit / credit card, when you phone to make the booking. Credit card payments are subject to a 1.8% handling fee. There is no handling fee for debit card payments.
You will need to bring the completed application form(s) to your appointment along with your supporting documents. The NCS adviser will check the application form(s) have been completed correctly. The supporting documents will be checked and certified by the NCS adviser, so that you may keep the originals. Please note that we must see the original documents, photocopies will not be acceptable. All applications will then be forwarded to the Home Office by special delivery post.

The Nationality Checking Service offered by Richmond Registration Service is optional and you may use other agents such as solicitors or deal with the Home Office directly. There are a number of Councils throughout England and Wales offering this service and you can find a list of all participating authorities on the Office of the Immigration Service Commissioner (OISC) website.
