Local Strategic Partnership Annual Conference

The annual Local Strategic Partnership conference was held at Twickenham Rugby Stadium on the 23rd June 2010; the event was attended by over ninety partners, community representatives and organisations. The focus of this year’s conference was to identify priority areas for the refresh of the borough’s Community Plan and to consider new ways of involving residents.

The conference was opened by the chair of the Partnership and Leader of the Richmond upon Thames Council, Cllr Nicholas True. The keynote presentation on, local level engagement with communities, was delivered by Deborah Lee Chan and Dr. Kirstin McLarty from social research institute Ipsos Mori. A representative from the Department for Communities and Local Government gave an overview of the challenges and opportunities for LSPs from a national perspective.

Conference delegates then took part in discussions about priority issues for business, children and young people, culture, skills, the environment, community safety and health.
