Translation services
We want to make sure you can get information about our services that you can understand. We can provide all the information you need in different languages, Braille, large print, audio tape or electronic format (by email or on disk or CD). We can get translations into most languages, not just the ones listed here.
If you need an interpreter we can also organise this, over the telephone or face to face. If you need someone to sign for you (British Sign Language) we can arrange this, but because of the national shortage of sign language interpreters it could take up to three weeks.
If you speak very little English, or no English at all, visit one of the Reception areas listed below during office hours. We will arrange a telephone interpreting service to help you straight away, and someone to talk to you in your own language if you need it. You may have to wait or come back for someone to talk to you in your language, but the Reception staff will talk to you about this.
If you know which of our services you need, you can get access to translation, interpretation, BSL interpretation, large print, electronic format, Braille or audio tape transcription by contacting them direct. You can ring, email, fax, write or visit in person. Find the contact details of the service you need in the Services A to Z or ring our switchboard on 020 8891 1411.
If you do not know which of our services you need, you can look in the Services A to Z, ring our switchboard on 020 8891 1411, or visit any of the Reception areas listed below, during office hours. Our office hours are 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am to 5pm on Friday.
