Complaints about aircraft noise

Richmond Council's Noiseline

We regret to inform you that as from 1st April 2011, Richmond Council will no longer be running the dedicated Aircraft Noise Complaint Service. If however you do wish to make a complaint on aircraft noise issues please contact BAA's Noiseline.

However, Richmond Council is running a web based survey, for the duration of the Heathrow Freedom trials which is from November 2011 and February 2012 and again from July to September 2012. Residents are invited to take part in our Heathrow trials survey or call 020 8891 7979.

More information

For the duration of the Heathrow Freedom trials, BAA has set up an information point. The site has also data captured reports updated daily and monthly reports available.

The results of these trials are being studied carefully by several bodies, including both the Civil Aviation Authority and Richmond Council.

More information is also available on our aircraft noise page.

BAA's Noiseline

BAA runs a 24 hour answer phone:

Telephone 0800 344 844
Email: noise_complaints@baa.com

During office hours you can normally leave a message or speak to a member of BAA's 'Flight Evaluation Unit' who may be able to help you. The unit deals with a wide range of airport related issues from noise to flight numbers and flight paths.

BAA keep all statistics on the noise complaints they receive and these are reported routinely to the Heathrow Airport Consultative Committee.

BAA Webtrak

If you have a complaint about a particular flight over your house you can look it up on the BAA webtrak map. This shows the routes taken by each aircraft using Heathrow along with the aircraft type, speed, height and airline operator. This can be useful to identify a particular flight. If at first it does not work you may need to install the Adobe SVG plugin (for Windows Explorer) or alternatively you may require Firefox.
