Food safety
We aim to protect consumers in the Borough from food poisoning and from contaminated and unfit food.
In particular the Commercial Environmental Health Team:
- Inspects local food businesses to enforce hygiene standards
- Investigates complaints about hygiene or contaminated foods
- Checks food labelling, descriptions and claims
- Sample foods to test the quality and safety
- Investigate infectious diseases
