Smarter Travel Richmond upon Thames

Richmond upon Thames is home to a complex network of transport infrastructure which includes buses, rail, two London underground stations, cycle routes and car clubs.

From 2008 to 2010, Richmond Council partnered with Transport for London to deliver the Smarter Travel Programme. The programme aimed to increase access and information on a range of travel choices so that residents could adopt a more active lifestyle and help cut congestion in the borough.

Smarter Travel worked with various local partners including schools, businesses, tourist destinations and local campaign groups to deliver projects that offered long lasting benefits to the borough as a whole – making it an even better place to live, work and visit.
