The civil partnership signing and ceremony

A civil partnership is legally formed by the signing of the civil partnership schedule, which is issued 15 clear days after you have both given notice.

You do not have to have any form of ceremony, however Richmond upon Thames offers you the opportunity of having a civil partnership ceremony, if you would like to.

If you do not wish to have any form of ceremony, you will be selecting to have a signing only.

If you do choose to have a ceremony, you can enhance it with music, readings and personal vows.

A civil partnership ceremony can contain no religious connotations and you will need to bear this in mind when selecting your music and readings.
