What else is happening in Ham & Petersham?
Current projects
The following projects are currently underway:
- Home Energy Assessments - Book your free home energy assessment if you have already applied to the scheme and receive your free Eco Starter Kit.
- Street Champions - A network of local ambassadors to support you in your energy saving activities. Why not find out more by attending one of their monthly meetings.
- School improvement works - Schools in Ham and Petersham are reducing their energy bills through a range of energy efficiency and renewable technology measures. The Russell, Strathmore and Grey Court all have solar PV panels while Meadlands now has both solar PV and solar thermal systems.
- Support for local businesses - Free environmental assessments are available for local businesses to help them reduce their energy bills and environmental impact. For more information see the Go Green at work pages.
- Talks on solar - Street Champions are putting on a number of talks about solar technologies for local residents. These talks give you a chance to hear about what it is like having solar on your roof by people who already have it. For the date of the next talk, please see the events page.
- Green Drinks - a monthly social for those interested in green issues. Every second Tuesday of the month at the Hand and Flower pub.
Planned projects
The following projects are currently in the planning stages:
- Ham Cycle Workshop will be launched this Autumn and will aim to get more people to make trips around Ham by bicycle.
- Thermal imaging sessions for Winter 2011/12. Many people have expressed interest in hosting a thermal imaging session in their street and Street Champions will be trained and ready to help. If you are interested in having a sessuion in your street please contact the Low Carbon Zone Coordinator.
- Videos of Low Carbon Homes - We are currently looking for households that have already taken significant steps to reduce their energy bills through a range of measures to be in videos showcasing low carbon homes in the area. If you are interested please contact the Low Carbon Zone Coordinator.
