Stationery Amnesty
It’s easy to over-order stationery and then forget that the leftovers are sitting in the back of a drawer, or to no longer need an item of office equipment that is still in good condition and would be a waste to throw away.
Stationery amnesties are the ideal solution, easy to set up and a great way of making sure that materials are recycled and put to good use. Simply allocate a cupboard or space where people can deposit unwanted stationery and let your staff know that this should be their first port of call before ordering any new items. By reusing stationery and office equipment, not only will your business reduce waste but save money too!
Richmond Council has been running a successful stationery amnesty for internal departments and is happy to make items available for other businesses in the borough to reuse. Due to office moves and a shift to paperless systems, we have large numbers of lever arch folders and other miscellaneous items on offer. Contact sustainability@richmond.gov.uk to arrange collection.
