Merit award

If you can tell us about at least one activity for each of the environmental aspects to show that you have started to reduce your impact you will qualify for a Go Green Richmond upon Thames merit award.

Examples of the types of activities you could implement include, but are not limited to:

Energy

  • Turn off equipment and lighting out of working hours and when not in use.
  • Reduce use of air conditioning and heating through temperature control.

Water

  • Fix leaks promptly.
  • Implement water saving devices for example in toilet cisterns.

Waste

  • Minimise waste through reuse and recycling.
  • Meet Duty of Care legal obligations including keeping Waste Transfer Notes from a licensed carrier for two years. and storing waste responsibly.

Purchasing

  • Review purchasing requirements to ensure you only purchase what your require.
  • Purchase recycled or energy efficient products.
  • Reduce the frequency of supplier deliveries by bulk ordering non-perishable products.

Travel

  • Provide information to staff and visitors on public transport access to your site.
  • Provide incentive schemes for staff to cycle to work.

If you have not already had an initial environmental review when applying for a one leaf award then we will visit your site when assessing your application.
