Sustainability Conference for School
Co-ordinators 2009
Over thirty delegates attended the borough's first sustainability conference for school co-ordinators held on 30 January 2009. It was hosted by Hampton Hill Junior School which is working with the local authority and other partner organisations in the borough to raise awareness of the DCSF’s National Framework for Sustainable Schools and the eight ‘doorways’.
The aim of the event was to develop existing school activity and inspire others to embed sustainability issues by promoting support and resources available, sharing ideas and further defining the role of a 'sustainability co-ordinator' within each school. It was a fantastic event with positive feedback from school representatives who attended - they welcomed the opportunity to network, pick up useful contacts and evaluate their existing activity.
