Did you know we throw 7.2million tonnes of food away each year in the UK? This is equivalent to throwing away £12billion. If we stopped throwing food away, we could save the equivalent carbon emissions as taking 1 in 5 cars off UK roads.

Waste free lunches
Why not hold a waste free lunch or picnic? This is a great way of encouraging pupils and parents to think about food waste, packaging waste with tips on how to reduce both.
Know what you have and use it better
Before making any purchases, check what you have in stock already. You may find things lurking in the back of cupboards that you’d forgotten about!
