Energy certificate

All schools have been issued with Display Energy Certificates (DECs) to display in a prominent place. The certificate shows how each school’s energy use performs against a benchmark, similar to the energy label found on fridges and freezers. Ratings range from A (good) to G (bad) based on actual annual energy consumption of buildings. DECs are required for all public buildings over 1000m2. All schools' ratings can be dowloaded from our Display Energy Certificate page and you can also find out more information about how the rating is calculated(pdf, 132KB).

Schools have also been issued with an Advisory Report for buildings over 1000m2 outlining suitable energy saving measures to help you improve your DEC score. For further advice and help with implementing these measures, please contact the Sustainability Unit.
