Go green at school
Schools have an important role to play in promoting sustainable behaviours. They are the ideal place for children and young people to learn about and put into practice sustainable development.
Many schools in the borough have already made fantastic progress in embedding sustainability issues into the main areas of school life: the classroom, school estate and local community.
The Government defines a sustainable school as 'integrating high standards of achievement and behaviour including the goals of healthy living, environmental awareness, community involvement and citizenship' and has introduced a National Framework for Sustainable Schools.
We’ve pulled together everything you need to promote environmental issues in your school, creating a treasure chest of advice, sources of support and general information. Send us an email at sustainability@richmond.gov.uk if there’s anything you think is missing or would like to find out more about!
