Fridge and freezer disposal

We provide a fridge and freezer collection service from residential properties. It is important that fridges and freezers are disposed of correctly as they contain gases and materials that are harmful to the environment.

The fridges and freezers, which are collected, are taken to Townmead Road Re-use and Recycling Centre to be stored until a full container load can be sent for recycling.

Contact Waste and Recycling if you would like us to dispose of a bulky collection, garden waste or a clinical waste item.

To keep a clean and green environment, we encourage you to dispose of all waste in an environmentally friendly way and to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible.

How we met these standards last month

All waste arising from trade, commercial or any other organisations, including fridges or freezers must be collected by a specialist waste contractor.

Both the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) provide further information and advice surrounding the regulations as well as waste disposal of fridges and freezers.
