Time out or a short break

We know that caring for someone else can sometimes be hard. Sometimes just having a short break from your day to day responsibilities can be all that is needed to help you continue to care for your relative, neighbour or friend.

  • A break or holiday and holidays for people with a disabilityA short break, anything from just a few hours to a few weeks, can provide a break from the pressures of caring.
  • Short stay away from home for the person you care forA short break away from home in a residential setting, sometimes known as respite care, can often provide a welcome and much needed break.
  • Shared Lives SchemeA flexible care and support service offered in the home of a trained Shared Lives Carer.
  • Shared Lives Dementia SchemeSupport for people with dementia in the home of a Shared Lives Dementia Scheme Carer.
